New ICAO charts 1:500,000 - Edition 2026

DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung has published the new 1:500,000 ICAO chart for Germany on March 19, 2026. Following the complete conversion to a digital geoinformation system, the map will once again appear in the familiar, complete and user-friendly presentation - including updated information on all neighboring countries.

Technical update through new geosystem

Note: Due to automated data processing, there may be isolated symbol overlaps.

Military low-flying areas included again

For the first time since 2009, all Low Flying Areas (LFA) are fully integrated again - in the proven display logic of previous editions.

Gliding edition: completely metric

The special gliding version offers:

  • All altitudes consistently in meters
  • Gliding sectors in yellow for better recognizability
  • Metric data also for obstacles, terrain, airspaces

Depiction of neighboring countries

The ICAO map 2026 contains fully updated data for neighboring countries - ideal for navigation close to borders and Europe-wide flight planning.
