The EDS system reduces the consumption of oxygen up to 90 % (compared to conventional constant-flow systems). With constant-flow and lung-regulator systems only about 25% - 30% of the oxygen taken in enter into the blood. Surveys show that only the oxygen breathed in at the beginning of a breath is able to supply the human body effectively. The EDS system detects the beginning of each new breath and emits the correct amount of oxygen, calculated according to the specific pressure altitude.
Version for aircraft with fixed installed oxygen systems. A portable regulator supplies from the on-board oxygen connector the appropriate input pressure for EDS oxygen devices (1 – 1,8 bar / 15 - 25 psi).
About 50 h operating time with 3 AA batteries (AA), external power 5 VDC, dimensions: 11 x 10 x 3,3 cm.
Package includes: EDS Mod. O2D2-2G, 2 nose canulas (for up to 18.000 ft, in compliance with FAR 23.1447), 2 breathing masks for higher altitudes, EDS inline regulator, tubing, 3 AA batteries.
